Looking forward to trying the game soon on my ipad just havent been in the mood to play it yet, maybe this weekend Looking for more perspective, preferably non aggressive responses lol But I guess I'm on the side of the fence that has literally not bought any dlc or mtx outside of rock band songs. which can be a problem, but I'm looking for someone to help give me some clarity here on what happened with games like this and just why it's such a huge deal that there's optional/paid stuff like this even if you can play & beat the game without resorting to it? I've always struggled with how to consider the line of exploitation in stuff like this, half of me recognizes people can be vulnerable to this kind of shit, and the other half of my brain says no one is forcing them to buy (though you could say heavily coerced), so at what point do we waive their ability for self control and personal monetary responsibility? it's like gambling addictsĭon't get me wrong, I totally understand the frustration of playing a game that time-gates you or rapidly slows down progression later on, but at the same time if I've already got 5-20+ hours into it, I'm fine with just dropping the game at that point or carrying on and not spending a dime. My best guess here is the gross part is just how manipulative these things wind up being to people that have little self control.

I guess I just don't personally understand this need to improve your character via paying, and to be 'the best' when in cases like this it's a wallet competition that has nothing to do with you as a player and your gaming skill sooo.

look, if I can play for 10+ hours for free and it's fun and flows well and there's no need to spend money? that sounds like a huge win to me. Article is cringey, but it's so weird reading the discourse for the game and games like this.
